13th June 2015

Took the 2.5 hour trip to Pagham Harbour today. After about 2 hours of watching from Chruch Norton, the HUDSONIAN WHIMBREL flew down in front of the crowds, offering close-range viewing, showing the brown rump, longer bill and more distictive head markings. I beleive that this is the 10th british record and my forth North American wader species seen so far this spring.

Also present were Common, Sandwich and 2 Little Terns, 3 bar-tailed godwits, good numbers of avocets and whimbrels and 2 singing lesser whitethroats which were both heard only unfortunatly.
