28th - 31st December 2017 (Norfolk)

Visited relatives in Norfolk for a few days; on the trip up saw 33 species from the car including 14 Red Kites and 2 Egyptian Geese. An unexpected bonus came in the form of 12 released Great Bustards in a field near the Stonehenge Visitor Centre.

Had a look at the Babcock hide at Cley on the 30th but couldn't get a positive ID on any Water/Rock pipit types, 2 Ruff, a Marsh Harrier and several Egyptian Geese were the best managed.

A look at Holkham was more successful resulting in the 8 Shorelarks on the freshmarsh and a hybrid Black Brant from the drive as well as another Marsh Harrier.

Dark-Bellied Brent Geese - Holkham

The return trip resulted in only 31 species, the best of which was 7 Red Kites and 5 Ring-Necked Parakeets.
