Wanted to try for the hume's warbler today. Had to go to the opticians this morning so only got to Portland by 10:30, by which time the bird had not been seen for 45 minutes. After 2 hours or so of waiting, I decided I would come back in the evening.

I returned at about 3:30pm and found that there was no other birders present, however I instantly heard the HUME'S WARBLER calling, and after a few minutes I had decent scope views. I watched it for about an hour in which time it was calling regularly. It never stayed still long enough for me to get a decent photo, but I managed a bit of video in the fading light.
